FIVE NEW TEAMS AND TWO NEW COACHES JOIN THE LEAGUE
Five new teams have joined the league in this competition along with two new coaches.
Two new wildcards enter this competition: BerskrTempest coaches Banzai Legends, the second underworld team of the competition, while DougTheMinotaur fields the second elf team this season, the dark elves of Petting Zoo Players.
League and Spike! Magazine Trophy champion, Nik Saten, has traded in the lizards of A Reptile Dysfunkshun for a nurgle team. El Nooberino, Spike! Magazine Trophy runner-up, has also traded in his lizardmen. He will be coaching a team of khemri for this year's Dungeonbowl.
Vengure returns to defend his title, dropping the underworld team from the Chaos Cup earlier in the season for an orc team. Vengure won last year's Dungeonbowl with an orc team as well, besting Nik Saten in the final: 1-0.
We're fairly certain Nik Saten has something to say about Vengure's team as well as his own, new, nurgle team but the CDC has issued new guidelines imploring people to stay far away from the Nurgle Burgle Boyz. Apparently, they carry...all of the diseases. Just, all of them. Gross.
TEAMS ARE VYING FOR THEIR FINAL SHOT AT THE BLOOD BOWL
Knee-High to Nuffle, A Reptile Dysfunkshun, and Pips Pippy Fan Club have all qualified for this year's Blood Bowl. The Blood Bowl, of course, is the championship competition of the Mid-Atlantic Mauling League.
Chances are only two more teams are going to get the opportunity to earn a coveted spot in the Blood Bowl. Teams are going to fight hard to earn their place as they attempt to pull ahead in the standings early.
"Why on earth would you want to go to the Blood Bowl?", questioned Merek, coach of Tracksuit Mafia. "Do you guys even know what this game is? You're just going to die. We're all going to die. I've never seen minotaurs get broken in half so easily in my life. Why do we even take to the pitch? People bring chainsaws! They throw rocks! I could have sworn someone tossed a bomb at me once! Have you seen just how hot it can get? Why aren't there rules for this stuff!?"
We at the Gazette couldn't agree more that this is an exciting time in the season and we look forward to the upcoming games!
